At Least Three Injured After Shooting at Phoenix Office Complex

KSAZ/ABC News(PHOENIX) -- On the day Congress takes up the issue of gun violence comes word that a shooting at an office complex in Phoenix has left at least three people injured.

The conditions of those injured have not been disclosed. The gunman is believed to be on the loose.

Local law enforcement is on the scene, where some inside the office complex reported hearing as many as 10 shots.

Just a few hours ago former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords read a statement before a Senate committee discussing gun violence. Her speech is still slowed after being shot in the head in Tucson, Ariz., two years ago.

“Violence is a big problem,” she said. “Too many children are dying. Too many children. We must do something.”

Gun owners and Wayne LaPierre, the head of the National Rifle Association, also testified. LaPierre says instead of banning assault weapons there should be more prosecutions for gun-related violence.

Giffords is scheduled to meet with President Obama at the White House this afternoon.
