HUSKER VOLLEYBALL: Wong-Orantes Named Player of The Week
Nebraska's junior libero Justine Wong-Orantes was named the espnW National Volleyball Player of the Week following her performance at Penn State and Ohio State last weekend. Wong-Orantes helped lead the fourth-ranked Huskers to a 3-2 comeback win over then No. 1 Penn State last Friday.
NWU Adds Women's Bowling
Nebraska Wesleyan University announced Wednesday that women’s bowling will be added as a sport beginning in the 2016-17 school year. A search for a head coach is currently underway with competition scheduled to begin with the 2016-17 winter sports season.

Newby Garners Big Ten Honors
Nebraska I-back Terrell Newby is the Big Ten's co-offensive player of the week. The junior from Los Angeles established career highs with 28 carries for 198 yards in Saturday's 48-9 win over South Alabama. He also ran for two touchdowns and caught a touchdown pass.

Preparations are now underway for Saturday's Nebraska football game at Memorial Stadium against South Alabama. On Monday, Head Coach Mike Riley said they found a lot of positives from the BYU game, but adds they will work on correcting mistakes on plays like the 42-yard Hail Mary pass.
Murder Charges Filed Against Ex-Husker Phillips
Former NFL running back and Nebraska star Lawrence Phillips has been charged with murder in the death of his cellmate at a Central California prison. The 40-year-old Phillips is suspected of killing 37-year-old Damion Soward by strangulation at Kern Valley State Prison in April.
